Sepsis is a life threatening ailment particularly among the pediatric age. Contrary to popular beliefs that Sepsis is synonymous to blood poisoning or child infection, Septicemia is actually the extreme response of the body to an infection and virtually any infection can result to this, including nosocomial infections. This problem, if not promptly treated can result in fatigue, tissue damage and organ dysfunction.
HEI medical intervention record shows that about 65% of children suffer from sepsis.
