The two months old baby was delivered at one of the government hospitals in Lagos where she was diagnosed of Jaundice shortly after birth. The baby’s father has not showed up at the hospital since he went to bury his dead wife at the village. Presently, the hospital is taking care of the baby and still expecting the father to show up. New born jaundice is a yellowing of a baby’s skin and eyes. It is a very common disease and occurs when babies have a high level of bilirubin, a yellow pigment produced during normal breakdown of red blood cells.

In most cases, jaundice will disappear within 2 to 3 weeks. Jaundice that persists longer than 3 weeks may be a symptom of an underlying condition. Additionally, high levels of bilirubin can put a baby at risk for deafness, cerebral palsy, or other forms of brain damage.

Kindly join HEI to save this innocent baby’s life, her intensive care bills are rising and she needs further treatment so that she won’t be a victim of further damage. Support HEI Project 1Million to save a two months old baby’s life..
