We are delighted to announce that the Board of Trustees of Health Emergency Initiative (HEI) has appointed Mrs. Evi Ifekwe as a member of our Board of Trustees. This momentous decision was made during the Board’s meeting on 10 January 2025, following the recommendation of the Board’s Ethics and Governance Committee.
A Legacy of Excellence
Mrs. Ifekwe is a renowned technocrat with over 35 years of corporate experience. Her distinguished career began at Afribank (now Polaris Bank), where she swiftly rose to the role of Training Manager. Her career took an extraordinary turn when she joined TotalEnergies E&P as an HR Team Lead, eventually rising to the position of Executive General Manager.
In February 2023, Mrs. Ifekwe was appointed Executive Director, Country and People’s Services, while simultaneously serving as Board Chairman of TotalEnergies CPFA. She retired in August 2024, leaving an enduring legacy of excellence. Currently, she serves as a Non-Executive Director at FIN Insurance, providing strategic leadership and governance.

As a Trustee of HEI, Mrs. Ifekwe brings invaluable expertise in strategy, corporate governance, and ethics to advance our lifesaving mission. Prior to her appointment, she actively supported HEI’s initiatives as a volunteer, championing advocacy and contributing to vital organisational efforts.
