At Health Emergency Initiative (HEI), our commitment to emergency response preparedness goes beyond schools and communities—we are actively training law enforcement officers, including the Nigeria Police Force, in First Responders and CPR skills.
In collaboration with LFR International, Michigan, USA, we conducted a special Train the Trainer (TOTs) program, equipping police officers and other security personnel with life-saving skills to handle emergencies effectively.

Why Train Law Enforcement Officers?
Law enforcement agents are first on the scene in many emergency situations—road accidents, medical crises, or incidents requiring immediate medical intervention. Providing them with CPR, first aid, and prehospital care training ensures they can save lives before professional medical help arrives.
Impact of the Training
With this TOTs model, trained officers will pass on their knowledge to fellow officers and community members, creating a chain reaction of emergency preparedness across various regions. This initiative enhances public safety, reduces preventable deaths, and strengthens Nigeria’s emergency response framework.

“Training law enforcement officers in emergency response is a game-changer. They are already on the front lines, and now they have the skills to act swiftly and save lives,” said Paschal Achunine, Executive Director of HEI.
A Commitment to Saving Lives
Through strategic partnerships like this, HEI remains dedicated to bridging critical gaps in emergency healthcare. We will continue to expand our training reach, ensuring that more people—from students to law enforcement officers—are equipped with essential life-saving skills.
