In an economy and demography like Nigeria, social distancing might seem unrealistic or cannot be achieved but if we really want to survive this, we have to co-operate to make social distancing effectively work.
Social distancing is deliberately increasing the physical space between people in order to curb the spread of illness. Specifically, staying at least 6ft away from other people lessens your chances of being infected with Covid-19.
Social distancing affords you to avoid larger crowds or crowded spaces. Examples of social distancing are:
- Working from home instead of at the office.
- Shutting down of schools or switching to online classes.
- Cancelling or postponing conferences, trainings or large meetings
Social distancing broadly involves:
- Restricted movements
- Self- isolation
- Restricted movements
Restricted movements means avoiding contact with other people and social situations as much as possible. It is sometimes referred to as self-quarantine. This is done to prevent you from getting infected with Corona Virus and stop the spread of the virus.
HOW TO RESTRICT YOUR MOVEMENT
If you are well, but you have been in close contact with a case of corona virus you will need to restrict your movements. This is to stop other people from getting corona virus.Restricted movement means avoiding contact with other people as much as possible by staying at home or in your hotel.
