Main risk factors
Some of the risk factors identified by WHO are the following:
1. Speeding,
2. Driving while intoxicated or under the influence of psychoactive substances,
3. Non-compliance or absence of safety provisions (helmet, seat belt, car seat for children…),
4. Distracted driving due to the use of mobile phones,
5. Dangerous road infrastructure,
6. Failure to comply with the Highway Traffic Act.
The use of the road is a major source of income to lives; people also die on the same road.
