Following the completion of the First Responders training for secondary school teachers in Ilorin, the Health Emergency Initiative (HEI) delegation paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Kwara State, Dr Lawal Olohungbegbe.

The delegation, led by HEI’s Executive Director, Paschal Achunine, and Training Consultant/Chief of Staff, Dr Abigail Mkperedem-Hassan, was warmly received by the Honourable Commissioner, along with the Permanent Secretary, the Director of Basic and Secondary Education, and other key officials of the Ministry of Education.

During the meeting, Dr Lawal Olohungbegbe expressed his deep appreciation to TotalEnergies E&P, the sponsor of the training, for its commitment to emergency preparedness and lifesaving education. He also commended HEI for introducing the First Responders training to Kwara State and emphasised the State Government’s continued support in sustaining and scaling the programme across the state.

This milestone further solidifies HEI’s mission to empower communities with critical emergency response skills, ensuring that more lives are saved through timely and informed intervention.
